PESHAWAR: Allegations of sexual harassment of female students by teachers of Islamia College University Peshawar could not be proved. However, it has been reported that female students were being bullied by male teachers unnecessarily by calling them to their offices. Similarly, two female students accused the chairman of the political science department of inappropriate behavior. ICUP administration failed to provide a suitable environment for female students and staff. Few male and female students were reluctant to record statements against male staff during government investigations against administration fearing revenge in exams and papers. ....

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet on Wednesday approved two years extension in the upper age limit for the Provincial Management Service (PMS) examination to benefit the aspirants, who have become overage due to a pandemic-induced delay in the holding of the exam.
Chief Minister Mahmood Khan presided over the cabinet meeting, which was attended by ministers, his advisers, and administrative secretaries.
Spokesman for the government Kamran Khan Bangash said in a video briefing that the cabinet granted the PMS exam age relaxation on the demand of the youth, who couldn’t sit the exam due to a delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic before becoming overage. ....

KP govt raises upper age limit for PMS exam by 2 years

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Wednesday raised the upper age limit for the Provincial Management Services (PMS) examination by two years as the last year’s test was delayed due to corona pandemic.
The cabinet also approved the appointment of vice-chancellors for seven public sector universities.
The decisions were taken at the cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, said an official handout.
The chief minister directed the officials concerned to take necessary steps to fix the maximum age limit for each category of government jobs so that the candidates don’t have to visit the offices for seeking age relaxation. ....

Kohat District wins taekwondo contest for Afghan refugees in Pakistan

Afghan refugees in Pakistan have taken part in a taekwondo competition organised by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Commissionerate Afghan Refugees, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Football matches were also played at the three-day gala at Islamia College University Peshawar.
The team from Kohat District won the Taekwondo Championship.
UNHCR official Fuji Kawata, the Commissioner Afghan Refugees, KP, Muhammad Abbas Khan, and Islamia College dean Zareen Bacha were among those to attend.
We know that it has been a difficult year for everyone, and we are pleased to see the great enthusiasm and sportsmanship of the participants, Kawata said. ....
