ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Tuesday rejected plea of Islamabad Bar and ordered demolition of illegally constructed chambers of lawyers in Islamabad.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed upheld verdict of Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding demolition of the chambers and ordered to vacate the football ground.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed remarked that on what basis the court should stop the demolition. “Lawyers have no claim on the football ground. Those who want to practice [law] should have their offices built somewhere else,” he remarked. ....

SAMAA - Supreme Court orders demolition of illegal chambers of Islamabad lawyers

The Supreme Court has ordered the demolition of the illegal chambers of lawyers on Islamabad s F8 football ground. The top court upheld the verdict of the Islamabad High Court and dismissed the appeal filed by the Islamabad Bar Council. Earlier, the court had stayed the demolition till the hearing of the case. The lawyers in the petition had asked for alternate space to shift their chambers. Their request has been rejected. ....

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Thursday issued notices to the federation and Attorney General for Pakistan in a petition filed by Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, who was sacked as a judge of Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Siddiqui has challenged the Supreme Judicial Council’s recommendation that he be removed [from the post] for the judicial misconduct while addressing the Rawalpindi District Bar Association (RDBA) around two years back.
A five-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial and comprising Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Ijazul Ahsen, Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah heard the petition. ....
