This effort has been made with the encouragement and vision of the Union Ministry of Science & Technology.
In fact, the Centre for Technical Excellence at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur is focusing on water purification these days. The Centre has also worked towards providing a supply of safe drinking water in several states of the country. ....

GUWAHATI: More arrests have been made in connection with the minority students pre-matriculation scholarship scam.
According to the police, a team of CID with the help of local police personnel searched some locations under Boko Police Station and Alopati Char Police Station on Wednesday. The search operation yielded in the form of Sohidul Islam of Nagarbera and Rafiur Rahman of Chhaygaon who were involved in the pre-matriculation scam. The duo was arrested formally on Thursday. ....

Two expenditure observers – Rajni Rani Roy and Chanchal Meena – who were appointed for Kamrup (M) district by the Election Commission of India arrived in Guwahati on Thursday.

GUWAHATI: Two expenditure observers – Rajni Rani Roy and Chanchal Meena – who were appointed for Kamrup (M) district by the Election Commission of India arrived in Guwahati on Thursday.
Both the observers are from the 2007 batch of Indian Revenue Service. Ranji Rani Roy will observe the election expenditure of 51 Jalukbari and 54 Guwahati (W) LAC while Chanchal Meena will be in the expenditure observation of 52 Dispur and 53 Guwahati (E) LAC. The office-cum-residence for both the observers have been accommodated at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara.
