Lawrence County to receive $264,000 for projects

New affordable housing to open to residents at Depot Square in Ironton


Two additional units are expected to be ready for rental by the end of August, Kline said.
“We are doing the final cleanup right now,” he said. “We have a waiting list for rental housing.”
The first phase of the planned three-phase project is costing $2.2 million, Kline said.
“We are getting ready to go for bids for Phase II in the fall,” he said.
Those 10 units could be ready by next summer, Kline said.
The final phase of the project calls for another 10 units to be built in the area of Jefferson Street and South 8th Street, he said.
Called the German Village project, the 1,400-square-foot homes have three bedrooms and two bathrooms. ....

Eligible households can receive assistance with utility bills, central air conditioning repairs, and air conditioning unit and/or fan purchases through the Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program which runs from July 1st through September 30th.
Ohioans with a household income at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty guidelines and have a member of the household who is at least 60 years old, has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last twelve months, or can provide physician documentation that cooling assistance is needed for a household member’s health, are eligible. Additional eligibility factors include households who have a disconnect notice, have been shut off, or are trying to establish new electric services. ....
