The background gags always get me (Take went to town on that fly she got) lol also still crack up whenever I hear the difference between between Junkos anime voice and her singing voice. Sakis episode was pretty good. I m not sure if it s a rehash of sentiments she expressed when reuniting with her biker gang member (been a bit since I ve watched that episode), but it was really sad to see her come to the realization that she s going to see people she loved in her pervious live die as long as she s a zombie. I wonder if the other girls will have similar moments throughout the series. The door is definitely open for Lilly to have that, and maybe we ll see Sakura have that with her parents, if they re ever introduced or referenced. ....

Junko has internalized all of the stress of having to carry the weight of the group on her shoulders, even when none of the other members are putting that stress on her. Ai has been forced to the sidelines by Kotaro, mainly to force the rest of the girls to step up. While I never had a doubt about Ai jumping ship to rejoin Iron Frill, I was surprised to see the Iron Frill lead and second have some friction over the situation. This obsession appears to be a one-sided affair. While we knew what the Iron Frill girls thought about all this, and had a front-row seat to Junko’s panic over the whole thing, Ai remained a closed book until the ending performance. ....

Ai and Junko may not be the front-facing leaders of Franchouchou, but they’re the experts of the group. Kotaro takes Ai out of the spotlight for the time being because the next big gig for the group will be opening for the idol group Iron Frill. If that name is familiar it’s because that’s the former group Ai fronted. Granted, that being ten years ago the girls currently active in it aren’t the same ones as were there when Ai was, but it’s still too much of a risk.
