Senators voted 66-30 to repeal the 2002 measure that greenlighted the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. The measure ends more than 20 years of authorization for US presidents to use force in that country and return those war powers to Congress.
If the United States wants to make a positive contribution to the recovery of Iraq it needs to do more by at least helping repair the damage it inflicted on the country, analysts say.
