PREPARING for his next major mission, record-breaking athlete Jude Thomas will represent his club and city with additional pride.
Having just added an Australian open 3km silver medal and another under-20 national record to his sensational achievements, Thomas plans to continue competing in a specially created racing singlet.
The singlet was custom made by Pete Wyman from Bit Hit, to replicate what Ipswich and District Athletic Club (IDAC) competitors wore from the early 1980s into the 1990s.
I really like that singlet, Thomas said, displaying his sense of history and tradition.

After another tremendous performance at the latest Little Athletics Queensland Combined Events championships, she has to be.
Charlize, who turns 16 next year, set Queensland records in the under-15 javelin and for overall points winning her under-15 state heptathlon title.
The Karalee all-rounder was outstanding in the javelin, smashing the previous state record of 43.30m. Charlize threw a personal best 43.80m.
The Ipswich Little Athletics Centre achiever set a second Queensland record in amassing 4958 points from her seven events. The previous highest state record was 4818 points.
Charlize can compete for two more seasons with the Ipswich Little Athletics Centre. ....

WHEN you break two 40 year records just weeks apart, you have every right to savour both.
However, Ipswich s unstoppable athlete Jude Thomas was most delighted with his latest achievement - a massive personal best and World Junior qualifying run.
Thomas continued his exceptional progress by breaking a 42-year-old state under-20 record at Saturday night s Queensland 3km championships.
Competing in the open event at Runaway Bay, Thomas ran 8:00:07, finishing second and bettering his previous best by 19 seconds.
That came after he broke the state under-20 1500 record on January 23. That record had stood since 1980.
Heading to USQ Ipswich for orientation this morning, the Karalee sensation was thrilled with his record-breaking double. ....
