Now we have evolved to a flash flood threat around eastern iowa as heavy rains have fallen in the northern and western counties. Before this happened there was north and that will be out until 7 00 on thursday so we were concerned with the development of storms and it came to fruition today. Now we are seeing rain and big totals coming from the northern and western counties particularly in floyd county. Heres the radar and you can see we still have thunderstorms that are active around the area. They are in the Northern Counties. This is north of highway 20. This is where we see some of counties. We do have a Flash Flood Warning that is in effect and that includes county. That is out until three or clock. Strong storm
Now in the southwest you can see another strong cell that is located to the north of sumner. This is located to the north of highway 20. This storm tracking to the north of be around hawkeye, west union and claremont between now and 11 00 tonight. Heavy rainfall is the primary threat. Additional storms are expected around eastern iowa as we go to the nighttime hours. A Flash Flood Watch is out to the north. We are expecting more heavy rain and flooding problems around the northern parts of the viewing area. We have breaking news related to the weather. Firefighters in charles city are going door to door to warn residents that evacuations could be ordered at any time between now and friday afternoon when the cedar river could be cresting.
