We were told that we were being bought over by businessmen. they were going to take us over, yep, somebody else is coming in. the new owners had their own plan to make the home viable. it didn t involve private equity. instead, they were offering what was described as an outstanding investment opportunity. all i heard was there was invest rooms , where they own our building, they run the care home and basically, they sell each room for a substantial amount of money. they were selling leases on individual rooms to investors for up to £75,000 each, with an assurance of high returns. but now, the home stands empty. the regulator in northern ireland, concerned about the financial plans and who had responsibility for running the home, ordered its closure. ....
