Taito has announced that retro collection Space Invaders Invincible Collection is finally headed westward on Switch. The localized port of the classic shmup compendium is now available to pre-order on the Nintendo eShop, ahead of its August 17 release date. Perhaps a little more eyebrow-raising, however, is the full retail price of $59.99. That’s something. Originally released in Japan in the spring of 2020, Space Invaders Invincible Collection features 11 different variants of the alien-blasting franchise from 1978’s pioneering classic to 2018’s Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE. Also included is a free download of 2017 mobile release Arkanoid vs. Space Invaders, for a total of 12 blip-blooping shooters.
