CDC releases PFAS exposure assessment results

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) have released the initial results of exposure assessments conducted in communities near current or former military bases known to have had per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in their drinking water.
Individuals who participated in the assessments provided blood and urine samples to CDC and ATSDR for analysis. The assessment focused on El Paso County near Peterson Air Force Base, in the Fountain Valley and Security-Widefield areas. ....

Experts say the commercial real estate market in Colorado Springs is poised for continued growth in 2021 â even as the area recovers from the pandemic-related economic shutdowns of last year.
Real estate analytics company Costar reported that the vacancy rate for commercial properties in Colorado Springs hit 8.84 percent in the fourth quarter of 2020, with a high of roughly 450,000 square feet sitting empty after more than a dozen Downtown businesses closed or looked to cut overhead costs as their employees shifted to remote work. ....
