Trip-goers may see brown pelicans diving for fish, shorebird murmurations over the bay, bill diversity of Pacific Coast shorebirds and migratory terrestrial species returning for the winter.
September/October Art Show - Paul and Nancy Rickard This show, “The Spirt of Arcata Marsh, 2023,” celebrates a contemporary depiction of the now 54-year-old marsh. The wastewater treatment plant, native flora, fauna and human community continues to thrive and coexist. A free public reception for the artists will be held at the Interpretive Center on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Josephine, a six-banded armadillo, escaped the zoo's Interpretive Center on Thursday morning, the zoo said. Staff searched the zoo and the surrounding area but had no luck.
