PROJECT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE
In 2018, Internews launched a Gender Equality and Women s Empowerment Strategy spanning our internal, organizational functions as well as our programmatic work. The Gender Strategy guided us to design and implement projects that break down existing barriers to equal access to information, increasing women s participation in the media as subjects, experts, leaders, and contributors, helping to build the capacity of women journalists, and promoting equal engagement of women in public dialogue and debate.
