Nice to be here again. Nice to be here with you, lynn, as well. The American Cable Association is unique in the fact that we represent many smaller Cable Operators across the country, and everyone always asks me, are there still small Cable Operators left . In fact, there are nearly 900 of them in every corner you can imagine, rural areas, small towns. Many of them are providing Competitive Services even against some of the largest providers today. And whats great about these smaller companies, its a terrific story because theyre providing broadband, highspeed broadband in rural areas that desperately need Broadband Service. So these are the members we represent. Theyre smaller, theyre independent which means that theyre not affiliated with larger content companies or larger providers, and w
Electricity generation already and we hope to build on the progress that is currently going on and frankly has been going on for years at the state and local level. States are already participating in their own market based programs to cut pollution. From carbon. I should make sure that everybody says when i mean carbon, it means more than 35 states have clean energy targets. More than 25 have already set Energy Efficiency goals and have cut their energy waste and over 1000 mayors across the country have signed agreements to cut Carbon Pollution. Clearly, states and local communities are doing their jobs as incubators of innovation leading the way to cleaner, more affordable, more sustainable energy. Fighting Climate Change makes Good Business sense. Thats worth repeating. Climate change just makes Good Business sense. As the president has pointed out, more than 500 businesses, including gm and nike, called this and i quote, one of the greatest opportunities of the 21st century. So we
Goals are. I suspect those goals may vary depending on whether you are teaching graduate and so, in engineering, it will be a very fact heavy inquiry. We will have to define Critical Mass, i think, based on into solution institution specific data. Be differently defined than another at another institution. There are arguments in fisher were the court was asking, does Critical Mass differ depending on the location of the school . Example, Critical Mass, you would expect is some significant or should of latino students because of the population. In pennsylvania, maybe not because you do not have as large of a latino population. Unclear exactly what Critical Mass is and how schools are defining that term and interpreting it and applying it. Well have to give some thought as to how we do that going forward. I think we will have to give some thought to race neutral alternatives and why those alternatives do not yield sufficient levels of racial diversity that we need and why we need racial
Were closing their doors five years ago, plants like this were closing their doors. Manufacturing,f the Auto Industry was flatlining. Its own standing on feet and made smart decisions, andalan will tell you if gm chrysler had gone down, suppliers would go down, dealers would have gone down. All of that wouldve had a propellant had a profound impact on ford. I refuse to let that happen. We work with labor and management. Everybody put some skin in the game. We bet on the american worker. Today that that has paid off because the american Auto Industry has come roaring back. [applause] the big three are all profitable hiring new workers, not just building more cars. You are building better cars and trucks. Look at what is going on at the plant. F1 50 is built tougher and more fuel efficient than ever. [applause] you have trouble making them fast enough. You had to bring on a third shift of 900 workers to keep up with demand. [applause] invested 1. 1 billion in this plant, pretty new worke
