Lights, trees, music: Finding ways to enjoy holiday spirit during a pandemic


This year has been a real Grinch, but like the Whos in Whoville, there’s one thing it can’t take away from us – holiday spirit. There are still things to do this season, from fantastic foliage exhibits to festive photo ops. Here are a few ways to make your spirits bright.
Festival of Lights Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima

Another annual holiday light show is at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. This campus is sprawled across 16 acres of land in which you can social distance with ease. The architectural highlight of the basilica is the glass dome, towering 55-feet high with a 100-foot diameter. An impressive view in ordinary times, the dome is adorned with strips of lights during the holiday season, making it even more magnificent. Across the grounds, you can also enjoy the Avenue of Saints and trees dotted with colorful lights. ....
