Nagaland launches Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight

Dimapur, June 28 (EMN): Zunheboto district health society (DHS) has launched Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) at New Colony Prayer Fellowship in Zunheboto town and all health units of the district on June 27. IDCF is being organised with an objective to attain zero number of child deaths due to diarrhoea. It also aims to create mass awareness about the most effective and low-cost diarrhoea treatment a combination of oral rehydration salt (ORS) solution and zinc tablets, an update from the chief medical officer (CMO), Zunheboto, stated. Speaking at the launch event, Dr. J Hokugha Sema, DVBO and DSO Zunheboto, spoke on the key actions and prevention of diarrhoea. He stressed on the importance of ORS and Zinc during diarrhoeal outbreaks among children. The keynote address was delivered by Rosemary Vitoli, DPM (NHM) Zunheboto, wherein she gave an overview on IDCF which commenced from June 27 and would culminate on July 11 across all health units in the district. Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight launched in Peren

Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): District Health Society (DHS) Peren launched Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) at Jalukie Women Welfare Hall and across all health units in the district on Monday. Dr. Limakum Aier, Dy.CMO Peren delivered a short speech in which he spoke on the key actions and prevention of diarrhoea. He stressed on the importance and use of ORS and zinc during diarrhoeal episodes among children and assured that it is a safe treatment which makes the child recover from diarrhoea faster. Keynote address was delivered by Dr. Kiholi, DPO (RCH & UIP), Peren. She gave an overview on IDCF which will commence from June 27 till July 11 across all health units in the district. During the fortnight, ORS and zinc will be distributed to children along with their mothers/care-givers suffering from diarrhoea and demonstration on preparation of homemade ORS and awareness on prevention of diarrhoea to parents/caregivers will be held at all health units. ....
