NSCN (IM) refutes SCAN's claim on Ntangki

Dimapur, Oct. 25 (EMN): NSCN (IM) on Tuesday accused the Senior Citizen’s Association of Nagaland (SCAN) of “unfairly” targeting the group with their “misleading” statement concerning Ntangki National Park. It placed on record that Ntangki National Park originally belongs to Old Bisumpui village while Hebron was allocated as ceasefire designated camp by the then chief minister SC Jamir. Hebron is outside the boundaries of Ntangki National Park and originally belongs to Old Jalukie village, it stated. The Jalukiekam village was established with the permission of Old Jalukie village and is a recognised village with specific boundaries. “The Hebron camp is very much within the Jalukiekam village jurisdiction and outside the boundary of Ntangki National Park and not as recklessly claimed by SCAN. The Jalukiekam village authorities gave permission to NSCN to establish its Council Headquarters (CHQ), Hebron Camp with the condition that the land will be returned to the owner, Jalu ....

25 forest guards complete training at SEFTI

Dimapur, Oct. 15 (EMN): A total of 25 forest guards have successfully undergone a six-month training at State Environment and Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI) in Dimapur. The convocation of the 42nd batch forest guards was held on October 11 at the institute in Signal Bosti, Dimapur. An update from SEFTI stated that Dharmendra Prakash, principal chief conservator of Forests and head of forest force, graced the programme as the chief guest and exhorted the trainees to implement what they have learned during the training in the field. He also advised them to adopt schools in their places of posting to disseminate forestry activities to the students. Reminding that they are the foot soldiers of the department and knew more about what is going on at the ground-level more than the officers, he advised them to always find opportunities to help create good image of the department. Leaders told to hold special Sunday on wildlife conservation

Dimapur, Oct. 2 (EMN): While illustrating that wildlife is the creation of God, the director of Intangki National Park (INP), T Aochuba, has urged the church leaders to spread the message of conservation in their respective churches by organising a special Sunday service to protect and save the beautiful creation of God. Speaking at a programme to mark the Wildlife Week held at Manglumukh village council hall on October 1, Aochuba, has stressed on conserving wildlife and urged the local church leaders present in the programme to spread the conservation message in their respective churches. Stating that wildlife too is the creation of God, he said the onus is on us to protect and save the beautiful creation of God.
