2020 grad recognized with national award - School of Public Policy


Congratulations to MPP 2020 graduate Colin Bowbrick for winning gold in the 2020 National Student and Thought Leadership Awards in Public Administration–a joint initiative of the Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA) and the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC). Colin presented his Capstone research titled
War on drug resistance: policy interventions to tackle antibiotic misuse in Canada to a panel of judges in a virtual format. The award recognizes top talent in Canadian public administration and policy programs at regional and national levels. It highlights excellence in public administration and showcases the talent emerging from Canadian programs each year. This year’s competition, held in conjunction with the IPAC National Conference was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and like so many things this year, proceeded as a virtual event. ....

Lieutenant-Governor Recognizes Excellence in Public Administration

Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia s chief medical officer of health, is the recipient of the 2020 Lieutenant-Governor s Award for Excellence in Public Administration.
The medal is awarded annually to someone who works in public administration and exhibits the highest standard of excellence, dedication and accomplishment.
Throughout his career, Dr. Strang has placed the health of Nova Scotians at the forefront of his work, developing and implementing policies with our well-being in mind, said Lt.-Gov. Arthur LeBlanc. His commitment to the health of all Nova Scotians has never been more evident than during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is a most deserving recipient of this year s award. ....
