NEW DELHI: Inside Delhi assembly chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday tore up copies of three farm laws passed by the central government to express his opposition to the laws which have triggered massive protests by farmers. Kejriwal said he was doing so because he cannot betray the farmers and soldiers of the country. Highlighting the plight of farmers protesting at Delhi’s various borders, Kejriwal said 20 farmers have so far lost their lives and appealed to the Centre to repeal the laws immediately. Kejriwal was speaking in the special session of the assembly which passed a resolution against the three farm laws. ....

Questioning the petitioner s counsel, the bench asked if the farmers are protesting outside Delhi then how does this petition fall under the jurisdiction of the Delhi High Court. Where are they protesting? Inside Delhi or outside, a division bench of the high court presided over by Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan questioned advocate Rohit Jha who was appearing for the petitioner. ....
