INS Sandhayak, the first of four Survey Vessel Large (SVL) ships, has been commissioned into the Indian Navy at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam, in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The Defence Minister who arrived in Visakhapatnam to attend the Commissioning Ceremony of INS Sandhayak early morning received a Guard of Honour on his arrival.

INS Sandhayak, the first Survey Vessel Large (SVL) ship, was commissioned into the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam. The SVL ship will obtain information about the oceans, protect the country, and combat maritime piracy and smuggling. Its primary role is to conduct hydrographic surveys for safe marine navigation.
