EM Bureau Kohima/Dimapur, July 30 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who is in Bangkok for the North East India Festival 2022, on Saturday, said educating people on the similarities of the Northeast region of India, Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, can help unify and help form close economic collaboration between the nations. PM to launch Mahabahu-Brahmaputra ; inaugurate Ro-Pax operations
Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi will launch Mahabahu-Brahmaputra , lay the foundation stone of the Dhubri-Phulbari Bridge and perform the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the Majuli bridge in Assam on February 18 via video conferencing.
The launch of Mahabahu-Brahmaputra will be marked by the inauguration of Ro-Pax (roll-on/roll-off passenger service) vessel operations between Neamati-Majuli island, North Guwahati-South Guwahati and Dhubri-Hatsingimari Shilanyas of the inland water transport terminal at Jogighopa, and various tourist jetties on the Brahmaputra, the Prime Minister s Office (PMO) said.
Besides these, digital solutions for ease-of-doing-business will be also launched, it said.

The Mahabahu Brahmaputra project will cost Rs 3,231 crore. The four-lane Dhubri-Phulbari bridge is estimated to cost appromixamtely 4,997 crores.

GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday launched the `Mahabahu-Brahmaputra` and laid the foundation stone of Dhubri-Phulbari Bridge in a virtual event. He also performed bhumi pujan for the construction of the Jorhat-Majuli Bridge at 12 noon.
The Mahabahu Brahmaputra project will cost Rs 3,231 crore.
Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to announce the launch of the Mahabahu Brahmaputra project. He wrote, Grateful Hon PM Sri @narendramodi for launch of Mahabahu Brahmaputra ~ A towering step towards enabling seamless connectivity in #NorthEast. It ll help promote river cruise tourism, generate employment and enable growth in local business.
