the children s hospital of pittsburgh, quickly went into lockdown as the situation unfolded there. rich has the latest on all of this. what s happening now, rich? rich: good afternoon, sandra. police say the shooter is still holed up, they are evacuating nearby houses and asking others to shelter in place. around 11:00 a.m., police in pittsburgh started warning residents to avoid the area because of an active shooter. the allegany county sheriff s office says deputies served an eviction notice. that turned violent and he began shooting. local reports say the swat team then surrounded the house and escorted sheriff s deputies out of there, including one who was reportedly pinned down. cameras on the scene picked up the sound of more heavy gunfire a short while ago.
