The capital market on Wednesday surged sharply where activity mostly centred on cement, oil marketing companies and power sector stocks on the back of positive developments, which encouraged investors to place sizeable deals, dealers said.
The benchmark KSE-100 shares index at one stage crossed the 47,000 barrier, and hit session high of 47,123 points. This barrier was crossed almost after 3.5 years. The last time it was broken in August 2017. However, selling in some blue chips and investment stocks clipped the gains, forcing the index to close below 47,000 points level.
Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) KSE-100 index gained 0.76 percent or 353.29 points to close at 46,933.63 points. Volumes increased 616.309 million shares, from 468.062 million shares on Tuesday. KSE-30 shares index rose 0.88 percent or 170.19 points to end at 19,568.76 points level. ....

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The KSE-100 index of the pakistan stock exchange (psx) on Monday witnessed bullish trend, gaining 257.51 points, with positive change of 0.59 percent, closing at 43,674.28 points against 43,416.77 points on the last working day.
A total 463,412,081 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 570,583,163 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs.18.892 billion against Rs. 25.513 billion previous day.
As many as 398 companies transacted shares in the stock market, 225 of them recorded gain and 154 sustained losses whereas the share price of 19 companies remained unchanged. ....

Mid-session profit-taking flattens PSX

Stocks ended barely changed after getting off to a good start as second-session profit-taking wiped out all the early points, despite firm fundamentals and strong sentiments, dealers said.
Pakistan Stock Exchange’s (PSX) benchmark KSE-100 shares index lost 0.06 percent or 26.13 points to close at 43,740.56 point.
Volumes decreased to 482.628 million shares, as compared to 497.562 million shares in the previous session. KSE-30 also hit a low of 0.14 percent or 25.43 points to end at 18,246.21 points level.
Topline Securities in a note said continuing its momentum from the previous day (Thursday), the market opened on a positive note to make an intraday high of 189 points. However, intraday profit taking in second half of the trading session led the index to close on a flat note, the brokerage added. ....
