DoT allocates spectrum for much-awaited 5G trials to telcos: Report


The Department of Telecom (DoT) has allocated spectrum to telecom operators to start 5G trials in the country, sources said.
The trials will be conducted at various locations including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Gujarat, Hyderabad, among others, according to industry sources.
Telecom operators have been allocated spectrum in 700 Mhz band, 3.3-3.6 gigahertz (Ghz) band and 24.25-28.5 Ghz band across various locations, a telecom company official said.
On May 4, DoT had approved applications from Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and MTNL for conducting 5G trials without using technologies from Chinese companies.
DoT had approved trials of 5G with Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and C-DOT. In addition, Reliance Jio Infocomm will be conducting trials using its own indigenous technology. ....

Reliance Jio signs agreement with Bharti Airtel

The trading agreement is in accordance with the Spectrum Trading Guidelines issued by
the Department of Telecommunications and is subject to the requisite regulatory and
statutory approvals. The aggregate value for the right to use this spectrum is Rs. 1,497
crores, inclusive of present value of associated deferred payment liablity of Rs. 459
crores, subject to any transaction related adjustments.
With this trading of right to use spectrum, RJIL will have 2X15MHz of spectrum in the
800MHz band in Mumbai circle and 2X10MHz of spectrum in the 800MHz band in Andhra
Pradesh and Delhi circles, thereby further consolidating its spectrum footprint in these ....

Bharti Airtel inks spectrum trading agreement with Jio


Bharti Airtel today announced an agreement with Reliance Jio lnfocomm to transfer the Right to Use of Airtel s 800 MHz spectrum in Andhra Pradesh (3.75 MHz), Delhi (1.25 MHz) and Mumbai (2.50 MHz) to Jio.
The agreement is subject to statutory approvals, the telco said in a regulatory filing issued after market hours today (6 April 2021).
Through this agreement, Airtel will receive a consideration of Rs 1037.6 crore from Jio for the proposed transfer. In addition, Jio will assume future liabilities of Rs 459 crore relating to the spectrum.

RIL, Ircon International, Mahindra Lifespace Developers in focus


Shares of Reliance Industries (RIL) will be in focus. Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL) announced that it has successfully acquired the right to use spectrum in all 22 circles across India in the recently concluded spectrum auctions conducted by Department of Telecommunications, Government of India. The payment to be made for the right to use this technology agnostic spectrum for a period of 20 years is Rs. 57,123 crore
Ircon International announced that the company s promoter proposes to sell up to 4,70,25,787 equity shares of the company, representing 10% of the issued and paid up share capital of the company on 03 March and 04 March 2021 through a separate window of the BSE and NSE. The Government may exercise an option to additionally sell 2,82,15,473 equity shares, representing 6% of the issued and paid up share capital of the company.
