Jamshedpur: It is exactly a year on Tuesday when the first case of Covid-19 was detected in East Singhbhum district but the battle with the deadly and rapidly spreading virus is far from over.
In the past 12 months, a total of 42,793 cases were detected of which 36,381 have recovered and 827 people have died. Currently, the district is also battling to treat 5,585 active cases, the state health bulletin said.
However, in a deviation from the state bulletin, the East Singhbhum authorities presented higher infection and death rates. The district data said so far 43,404 cases have been recorded till Monday of which 36,062 have recovered and 6,496 are active. It also put the number of deaths in the district at 846. ....
