Bangalore: The New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) in Karnataka on Tuesday found 11 liquefied oxygen tankers (Liquefied oxygen tanker), two cm trailers with liquefied oxygen and 1,200 oxygen cylinders by Indian Navy ship INS Shardul. These devices have been delivered by the Indian Community Support Group in Kuwait. The consignment was received by members of the Indian Red Cross Society, which was attended by Mangaluru Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar, ADGP Pratap Reddy and Tattar Rakshak (Karnataka) Command S B Venkatesh.
Meanwhile, corona relief flight took off from Delhi airport today amid the crisis of corona epidemic in the country. This was the 100th flight in 29 days, flying to India today with corona relief material. Delhi s airport is emerging as a hub for management and distribution of relief materials.
INS Talwar is the first vessel under the Samudra Setu-II operation which embarked from Bahrain to reach New Mangaluru Port at 1.30pm on Wednesday.
MANGALURU: The New Mangaluru Port Trust (NMPT) handled the first naval vessel INS Talwar, which was carrying 40MT of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) under the Samudra Setu-II operation launched by the Indian Navy.
Upon its arrival, the vessel was given the highest priority berthing in the port, at berth No. 7.
The LMO is donated by the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Indian Red Cross Society, as a token of goodwill to overcome the current pandemic situation.

Nearly 1.33 crore people applied for vaccination on Wednesday as the government s dedicated website, CoWIN, opened for registrations today. Those between 18 and 44 can get Covid shots from May 1 (Saturday).
After initial glitches, the CoWIN site was getting almost 27 lakh hits a minute, government sources said. Appointments will be based on slots made available by states and private vaccination centres, they said. More Appointment slots will soon be offered. If slots are not currently available, please check again after sometime. We request your patience and understanding, said government sources.
