India-China border: India-China border situation at present 'generally stable': Chinese military reacts to PM Modi's boundary row comments

The Chinese military has stated that the situation along the India-China border is "generally stable" and that both sides are maintaining "effective" communication to resolve the military standoff in eastern Ladakh. This comes in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi s recent interview with Newsweek magazine, where he expressed hope for positive engagement to restore peace and tranquility at the borders. Both countries have agreed to reach a mutually acceptable solution soon. The eastern Ladakh standoff, which began in May 2020, has resulted in a freeze of bilateral ties except for trade, despite 21 rounds of corps commanders-level talks. ....

China says 'great positive progress' made to resolve border row with India

The relations between India and China have been frozen except for trade ties ever since the eastern Ladakh border standoff erupted on May 5, 2020, following a violent clash in the Pangong Tso (lake) area.
