NEW DELHI, April 27 (Xinhua) India has, in the past days, witnessed a resurgence of COVID-19 cases, overwhelming the populous country s already crumbled healthcare system.
Here is a timeline of the development of India s epidemic situation over the past week.
April 19:
India s COVID-19 tally surpassed the 15 million mark, reaching 15,061,919, according to the country s federal health ministry.
With an increase of 273,810 cases during the past 24 hours, the country had witnessed a daily spike of over 250,000 new cases for three days straight.
All persons aged 18 years and above would be eligible to get COVID-19 vaccination with effect from May 1, said India s federal government. This would be the Phase-III of India s COVID-19 vaccination drive. ....
