department s inspector general report. you have had time to go through it by now. what s your nanalysis of the findings? with respect to the report, it s thorough. it s detailed. it s reasoned. it s not histrionic. it was authored by a team of people. it s everything i expect it to be. i expect and have seen on television and on social media people cherry picking pieces they want to emphasize because it supports a particular political narrative. denigrate other portions because they don t like it. my portion is similar to chris wray. i accept in reading it i haven t read all of it. from based on what i read, i accept the report in total. that means, some things that run fortunate and sad to have to accept, among them that jim comey engaged in errors of
judgment, that jim comey was insubordinate. i accept there were fbi agents who engaged in text communication they shouldn t have that are terrible. i accept also that there were fbi agents who accepted gifts and gratuities from reporters. that shouldn t have happened. the same time, i also accept the determination that the ig made that the decision not to charge hillary clinton in connection with the e-mail investigation was appropriate. maybe the closure wasn t handled well, but the decision made under tight nanalysis that they were considering with respect to her e-mails, that that decision was made appropriately. that doesn t make everyone happy. i accept in connection with what the ig found that there s no sort of deep state operating to rig the system in favor of up with kpd one candidate or the o. jim comey may have made errors in judgment. he was not doing that in connection with trying to sway
designated global terrorist. this is an incredible story. what s the fbi saying about this, about how it all happened? the fbi isn t saying much of anything about this case. what the bureau did say only in a statement is because of what happened here, the fbi took several steps to identify and reduce what they are calling vulnerabilities. no explanation of why it appears she was given such a light sentence? that explanation came from the department of justice where an owe fusfficial told us this line with other cases where you have someone lying to the fbi about terrorism but providing what they call significant cooperation once under arrest. i gotta tell you, we were given no proof of that, no nanalysis f that. most people facing these type of charges are getting much more severe sentences than this former fbi employee. incredible. drew griffin, thanks.
