Improved detection of atrial fibrillation (AF) using an implantable device over 12 months is found to be more than three times effective at detecting the condition when compared to standard care and could also help in preventing disabling strokes, as per The Post-Embolic Rhythm Detection With Implantable Versus External Monitoring (PER DIEM) study, at the University of Alberta and University of Calgary, published in the journal JAMA.
