Our Correspondent Changtongya, Nov. 8 (EMN): The first edition of Imonungba Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy, organised by the Changtongya Volleyball Association (CVA) and powered by Lenjeter, a monthly Ao magazine, got underway on Tuesday at public ground, Changtongya Town. Advisor, Industries & Commerce and Labour & Employment, Imnatiba Jamir, the chief guest of the inaugural function, recalled the time when Changtongya town was very popular for games and sports and music. Jamir also said it was a time when the town was infested with too many underground factions. However, things changed after chief minister Neiphiu Rio came to power in 2003. He said the present government is trying its best to promote sports by constructing astro turfs in many of the districts and encouraging the young people to participate in national level tournaments. Dimapur, Nov. 6 (EMN): The Business Association of Nagas (BAN) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with State Bank of India (SBI) in an effort to facilitate the ease of doing business and finance Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) of Naga entrepreneurs in the state. The MoU was signed in the valedictory function of the National Innovate, Integrate Expand (NIIE) trade fair on Nov. 5, organised by BAN and supported by the ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). “The NIIE trade fair culminated in a very positive note with huge promise and commitment to finance 1000 entrepreneurs by the iconic signing of MOU between SBI and BAN, which will bring hope and huge respite to the genuine entrepreneurs of the state,” an update from BAN stated on Sunday.
