Reporter public defender gary goodman who has worked inside the palo alto courthouse for years says there are signs of deputy staffing issues, delays on a weekly basis to get inmates up to the courtroom. Then you can hear over the radio that it appears theyre scrambling to get enough security to bring the defendant up to the courthouse. So theres a cascading effect to that. Reporter johnson admits it does take longer to get inmates to the courtroom in palo alto because there is not an elevator but insists the courthouse is sufficiently staffed.
