State Sen. Mattie Hunter (D-3rd) and state Rep. Kam Buckner (D-26th) have been named the chair and vice chair, respectively, of the Illinois Task Force on Missing and Murdered Women.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a bill that allows the certification and licensure of certified professional midwives in Illinois. The new law sets qualification and educational standards for certified professional midwives. It is effective on Oct. 1, 2022.
