McLean County officials are studying the results of what they call an eye-opening survey on rural residents' level of satisfaction with their internet service.
McLean County is one of five Illinois counties chosen to take part in Broadband Breakthrough, an effort to improve internet access in rural areas in the county.
The Maryland Digital Equity Scorecard Index Map shows that "the digital divide is a statewide issue, even if its character differs in rural and urban areas," per researcher John Horrigan.
