Stop parading as monarch without approval or risk six-year jail term - Ekiti gov tells chiefs


The Ekiti State Government has warned a traditional chief in Ilamo Ekiti, Ikole Local Government, Chief Ezekiel Olanipekun against parading himself as an Oba or risk spending six years in prison.
The Deputy Governor, Bisi Egbeyemi also warned that anyone who parades himself as a monarch without the approval of the government contravenes Ekiti State Chiefs’ Law and is liable to six-year imprisonment.
A statement by the Deputy Governor’s Special Assistant (Media), Odunayo Ogunmola, the warning was given at a meeting with the Alamo of Ilamo Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Awoseyila, chiefs and elders of the town in his office in Ado Ekiti. ....
