S Elvin Fredric, who was working in a private firm in the city, had gone missing from his rented house at Ilango Nagar in Avarampalayam on Tuesday. Preliminary inquiry revealed that Fredric took the extreme step after losing money in online gambling. “His mother Elizabeth had left for her hometown in Thoothukudi on Sunday. She returned on Tuesday morning and did not find her son at the house. We were not able to trace him as he had left behind his mobile phone,” a police officer said. ....
S Elvin Fredric COIMBATORE: A 29-year-old man, who lost more than Rs 7 lakh in online gambling, ended his life by jumping in front of a speeding train near Kongu Main Road in Tirupur district of Tamil Nadu on January 5, police said. The deceased has been identified as S Elvin Fredric, 29, of Ilango Nagar at Avarampalayam in Coimbatore city. On January 5, an unidentified man’s body was found on the railway track in Tirupur. The Government Railway Police (GRP) sent the body to the mortuary of Tirupur Government Medical College and Hospital. The police tried to trace the identity of the deceased. ....
