Senator Farole Criticised for Ruling Puntland Out of Somali Presidential Elections Garowe (PP News Desk) Abdi Habib Warsame, a Somali Presidential Candidate who attended Forum for Ideas Confrence organised by Heritage Institute and held in Garowe, had criticised Senator Abdirahman Farole, the former Puntland President, for saying that “Puntland has no a Presidential Candidate for 2021 elections in Somalia.” At a luncheon for Somali Presidential Candidates in Garowe last week Senator Farole said that it was Mogadishu-based candidates’ turn to occupy the Somali Presidency. President Deni Opens Forum for Ideas Confrence in Garowe Garowe (PP News Desk) Puntland State President Said Abdullahi Deni today officially opened the Forum for Ideas Confrence organised by Heritage Institute for Policy Studies. Delegates from the Somali Federal Government, Presidential Candidates, civil society members and other invited dignitaries are attending the conference. “I am pleased to welcome you to Garowe , where this event is taking place for the first in Somalia. I thank Heritage Institute for organising the conference and choosing Garowe as the venue” said President Deni. Jubaland ‘Sought’ to Open a Representative Office in Nairobi Garowe (PP News Desk) At a question and answer session on the first day of Forum for Ideas Confrence in Garowe Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam shared an anecdote about his attempt to open a Jubaland representative office in Nairobi. “I had the intention to open a Jubaland representative office in Nairobi. Rather than opening a seperate representative office in Nairobi, a decision that could damage the image of the Somali Embassy, I approached Ambassador Jamal [Hassan] and asked for him to accommodate the Jubaland representative’s office because I share a long border with Kenya, and Kenyan troops are in Jubaland” President Ahmed said. ....
