good morning, everyone. i m carolyn tyler. thanks for joining us on this sunday, january 24th. let s start with a quick look at the weather with our meteorologist lisa argen. good morning, carolyn, hi, everyone. we are starting with doppler hd and an incoming funnel system that will graze the north bay. there are returns to the north but you will notice more cloud cover from marin county up through sonoma and napa today. in and out of the clouds but temperatures still on the cool side. 51 san jose. morgan hill 48. clouds not really an issue right now. it s the cooler start. anywhere from 11 degrees cooler novato, 3 or 4 degrees cooler from mountain view to san jose. a chilly 44 degrees right here in santa cruz. numbers in the upper 50s. we will call it partly cloudy today and temperatures will be near normal. but we are looking at a warmup with more sunshine for the short term. the long-term? that s a different story. carolyn. thank you, lisa developing news out. vall
pressing thoughts they would like to address with the panel. right here in the front. the flaw in the current law? there is defamation, intimidation whenever we have a high profile case, there s a from people who think they can solve the problem or people who were injured who want a new law specifically for that issue. why do we need a new law in this case? do you want to start? rights work did not start with any high profile case. years ago when average people were being affected by this. this has been something that is happening private citizens for years. this is not some high profile case we are responding to out of a sense of now that has happened to someone famous we care. we care about this because the experience of victims has been that none of these laws work. if the image is out there, if it was not necessarily by someone trying to harass, and many of them do not, just to give you a concrete example, just a couple of weeks ago, the highway patrol officers who ha
would be certainly the likely candidate. but the other thing is perhaps there was a report a couple weeks ago about the potential lindsey graham for 2016. he was bored. but to the point of there will be sort of this jocking for a position on foreign policy matters. and senator graham from south carolina who david mentioned had really not erased for his own re-election. he s certainly in this camp with mccain,. rubio seems to be in that group. i m interested to watch is what the senator from new hampshire is who is up in 2016. and new hampshire was the one place on the senate map where there was a close contested race that was supposed to be a close contested race and the democrat held on. scott brown is not returning to the senate. senator shaheen won re-election. she s always with mccain or often with mccain and graham on that sort of thing and she ll be an interesting one to watch there to. the three amigos. > i think mccain tweeted out there will be a new member of he
to 62% primarily because of early voting. we make it easier to register, easier to vote by mail and, therefore, people turned out at a higher rate. but this turn out in this election showed that there is a huge enthusiasm gap, i think, about the candidates, especially for the democrats. it hurt them. it looks like it s about 37% for the last 30 years, it s 38.8%. you know, the real election for the house of representatives and to a certain extent in the senate is the primary election in america. the turnout there is 18%. in some cases, it s eight % and who turns out in an 8% election? the real election, because if you win in the primary, there is no competition in general. the people on the far right or the far left. turns americans off. the main thing is the main difference, though, in terms of turnout throughout the world, it s 95% in australia because it s required. you get fined $250 australian dollars if you do not vote. sne rarely do that. we should have more people v
