Anna May Wong (1905-1961)
Despite dealing with racism that plagued her career, Wong is still considered Hollywood s first-ever Asian American movie star. Her talent earned her roles in over 50 domestic and foreign films, and she was also the first Asian American to star in a TV show, The DuMont Television Network s The Gallery of Madame Liu-Tsong. A year before her death in 1961, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of fame. ....
