The Nightly: May 12th, 2021 By Metal Matt on May 12, 2021, 10:58pm EDT 84 Peyton Royce vs. Sarah Logan: This was a decent match, not really much to say. Peyton Royce vs. Ember Moon: This was Ember’s first match back from her shoulder injury, and this was actually a pretty good match. There was some good psychology with Peyton working over Ember’s shoulder, but Ember would win in the end. Peyton Royce vs. Sarah Logan: This took place on the pre-show/fallout show of NXT TakeOver Brooklyn III. Like their last match, this was a pretty basic match. Sarah was still new to the company and did not have a defined character whatsoever and the Iconic Duo were directionless at this point in time, so there was nothing to this match. ....
The Nightly: May 10th, 2021 By Metal Matt on May 10, 2021, 11:02pm EDT 111 Billie Kay vs. Ember Moon: This was a decent match, perhaps the most interesting part is the finish and post match angle. At the time, they were really trying to get the Eclipse over as a finisher, and one that could possibly dethrone Asuka as NXT Women’s Champion, so they did this worked injury angle with Billie that never went anywhere, it was a bit bizarre. Peyton Royce vs. Aliyah: This match took place on what was essentially the pre-show/NXT fallout show for TakeOver: Orlando. There is nothing to say about this match. It was super quick and nothing of note really happened in the match. ....
The Nightly: May 9th, 2021 By Metal Matt on May 9, 2021, 11:03pm EDT 61 Peyton Royce vs. Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship: This was a pretty solid match, Peyton got in way more offense than I was expecting. Peyton slowed the match down, and as a result, had Asuka at a bit of a disadvantage. Asuka would end up making a comeback, and Asuka would submit Peyton with the Asuka Lock to retain the title. Afterwards, Billie Kay would attack Asuka, but Ember Moon would come to the save, planting the seeds for an Asuka/Ember match at TakeOver: Orlando while simultaneously putting in place a mini feud with the Iconic Duo and Ember Moon. The week afterwards, Peyton and Billie would do a video on WWE’s website where they were trying to find a spot for their well deserved Year End Award, but ran into another confrontation with Ember. ....
The Nightly: May 7th, 2021 By Metal Matt on May 7, 2021, 11:02pm EDT 118 Billie Kay vs. Liv Morgan: This was a decent match, Liv ended up getting an upset win over Billie, leading a match to be booked for the next week, Iconic Duo vs. Liv and a mystery partner. Iconic Duo vs. Liv Morgan and Ember Moon: Ember ended up being a surprise partner, but it ended up doing nothing to help Liv, as the Iconic Duo would end up winning this match. Peyton Royce vs. Ember Moon vs. Liv Morgan: This was a number one contender’s match, whoever won would get a title shot against Asuka the next week on NXT. This was a pretty good match, it got some time, and Peyton ended up winning, and would get a title shot against the Empress Of Tomorrow. ....

Tonight, we take a look at arguably Peyton Royce and Billie Kay’s biggest NXT match yet when they both challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship. Peyton Royce vs. Billie Kay vs. Nikki Cross vs. Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship: Peyton and Billie were classic coward heels in the match, constantly moving out of the ring at the opportune times and stuff like that. They were even fighting Nikki Cross all the way to the front of the stage and ended up suplexing her off the announce table through another table, which was a pretty cool spot. The final moments came down to the Iconic Duo and Asuka, tAsuka was able to overpower both of them and would pin Peyton to win the match. The match was pretty good and fun, but I do think it was a bit short, especially compared to the other women’s TakeOver matches that took place before this. Still a really ....
