The 31st reincarnation of Sweden s Icehotel, an ephemeral art exhibition made entirely of snow and ice from the Torne River, opened Dec. 11.
The hotel, which debuted in 1989, comprises a year-round section with 12 suites and a temporary, winter-only section with six art suites that are reimagined and recreated every year. The new section will be open through April 11, around which date the ice starts melting back into the Torne River.
