Mamelodi Sundowns cemented their place in the
CAF Champions quarter-finals when they saw off a more than competent TP Mazembe side 1-0 at Loftus Versfeld.
Sundowns took the lead through utility player Lebohang Maboe in the 28th minute and while they never looked like relinquishing that lead in the first half, The Ravens from the Democratic Republic of Congo asked pressing questions in the second half.
They amounted to nothing as the hosts again showed their experience in terms of shutting down a continental game.
With their comfortability on the ball and a lack of high pressing from the visitors, Sundowns were able to protect their 1-0 that ensured they remained unbeaten at home since 2 June 2017.

Mamelodi Sundowns have once again proved why they are rated among the best teams on the continent. In hostile territory and against TP Mazembe, they used their experience to earn a hard-fought 2-1 win that sees them take full control of Group B in the Champions League.
In the process, the Brazilians have assumed the tag of favourites to finish top of the group and favourites to go all the way and possibly win this competition for the second time in their history.
