January 14, 2021 BOTH the Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu City Governments are confident of clearing all public roads of obstructions by Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, the deadline for the completion of the second round of road clearing operations (RCO 2.0). Edwin Jumao-as, head of the Mandaue City Enforcement Unit (MCEU), reported an accomplishment rate of 80 percent as of Wednesday, Jan. 13. “We have not checked the national and city roads yet because we have been focusing on barangay roads,” he said. He said they aim to surpass their 89 percent accomplishment rate in the first round of road clearing operations in 2019. The City is scheduled for evaluation by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Jan. 18 to 22. ....
