Golfers will be walking down fairways and filling score cards in the city this Easter long weekend. Pine Valley Golf Centre opened for business on Tuesday, the first course in the Prince George area to take tee-off times for 2011. “We’re definitely fortunate enough to be opened for (the long weekend), and I know that we’re the only one open now,” Pine Valley general manager Keith Good said Tuesday afternoon. “Whether or not that will be the case this weekend, I don’t know.” Easter may be falling later than usual, but that doesn’t mean opening before the long weekend was a certainty for Pine Valley. It’s been another cool spring and coming off record-setting snowfall in January and February, this year in particular has been a slow snow-melting process. ....
