Yannick Cupido, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene in Managua Close at around 12.55am on Sunday, February 14. A post mortem took place three days later and the cause of death was found to be a stab wound to the left lung and pulmonary artery. Cupido was originally from South Africa and was born in Cape Town, but he came to join his family in England two and a half years ago.

O’Neal Joseph, 28, of Amersham Road, Caversham, appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Thursday and the case was sent to Reading Crown Court for a further hearing today (February 19). A plea and pre-trial preparation hearing has been set for May 14 and the trial is currently listed for October 11. Another man, aged 22, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and has been released under investigation.

Murder investigation launched after man, 24, stabbed to death in Reading

Police have launched a murder investigation after a 24-year-old man was stabbed to death in Reading. The victim was found with a stab wound to the chest just before 1am on Sunday and died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. Thames Valley Police have appealed to members of the public to send in CCTV or dashcam footage of the area around Managua Close in Caversham, where the stabbing took place. No arrests have been made and a cordon.
