AKRON The Akron-Westfield football team didn't make the playoffs, but they finished with a Week 9 win over Riverside by a 34-0 score to conclude their season Friday. Conner Wendel completed.
HARTLEY Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn completed their Class A District 1 schedule with a perfect 6-0 record following a 41-8 win over Akron-Westfield on Friday. The Hawks got out to a 35-0 lead with 4:59.
AKRON For the second year in a row, a Class A District 1 battle between Akron-Westfield and South O'Brien was decided by one point. Last season, the Westerners rallied for a 29-28 win with two.
