NSW records no new locally acquired COVID-19 cases

No new local coronavirus cases have been recorded in New South Wales after a hotel quarantine security guard tested positive.

The 47 year old man had received his first vaccine dose and was not showing any symptoms and NSW Health has advised anyone who attended the following Hurstville venues at the listed times to monitor for symptoms.

Virus exposure sites include Hurstville's Aquatic Leisure Centre on Wednesday March 10 between 4:15 and 5:30pm and Coles at Hurtsville Station on Wednesday March 10 from 9:15 to 9:46pm or Saturday March 13 between 7:30 and 7:40am.

Genomic sequencing shows the infected security guard contracted the UK strain from a returned traveller from a hotel quarantine facility in Sydney.

NSW is reaching its vaccination targets with 37,000 people vaccinated in the past three weeks and a target of 80,000 in the next three weeks.
