How many remember in train derailment of August 7, 1970? On Friday evening August 7, 1970, a flash flood washed out the railroad culvert in east Craig near the Drive-In theater, as a result, D&RGW engine 5304 derailed and a number of boxcars left the track. Even with the size of the wreck, no one was injured. It also took a period of days to clean up the mess.
