Public-private partnership vaccinating 19,000 at Bank of America Stadium

CHARLOTTE — The public-private partnership comprised of Atrium Health, Honeywell, Tepper Sports & Entertainment and Charlotte Motor Speedway launched another mass vaccination program this weekend at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Football Club.
The event brings together each organization’s unique strengths in logistics, health care and managing large events in an effort to vaccinate as many community members as quickly as possible.
The mass vaccination event at Bank of America Stadium is projected to administer roughly 19,000 first dose vaccines over the three-day period, serving both drive-thru and walk-up traffic from Friday, Jan. 29, to Sunday, Jan. 31. It’s one of the largest vaccination sites in the country and the largest in North Carolina, based on anticipated patient throughput. CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A major push is underway to get thousands of people across the Charlotte-area vaccinated against the Coronavirus.  Several corporations are teaming up in an effort to save lives.  Friday, a unique public-private partnership kicked off the first of several mass vaccination events in the community.  It began at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
“We started at 7:30 this morning, and the first patient rolled in at 4:52 a.m. just to be sure that individual was ready to go” says Greg Walter with Charlotte Motor Speedway. ....
