WALTER: ISRAEL ALSO ROLLED OUT THE VACCINE IN THE PAST WEEK. TODAY, VOLUNTEERS GATHERED IN SACRAMENTO TO COLLECT BLANKETS AND JACKETS FOR THE HOMELESS. THE NON-PROFIT HUMANITARIAN ACTION NETWORK SET UP SHOP OUTSIDE THE TARGET STORE ON RIVERSIDE BOULEVARD. PEOPLE STOPPED BY TO DONATE NEW AND GENTLY USED SWEATERS, SLEEPING BAGS, AND COMFORTERS. ORGANIZERS SAY THE NEED IS GREATER THAN EVER DURING THE PANDEMIC. THEY HOPE THEIR EFFORTS AND THE COMMUNITY’S GENEROSITY SAVES LIVES. IT’S REALLY IMPORTANT BECAUSE EVERYTIME IT RAINS, THEIR BEDDING GETS WET. AND SO, WHEN WE HAVE A FREEZING COLD NIGHT FOLLOWING A RAIN, THEN THEY HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO WRAP UP IN WET BLANKETS, AND A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING FROM HYPOTHERMIA ....
